Program Schedule

Program Flow Overview

Week 1 – Immersion & Expansion
The first week front-loads collective learning, dialogue, and exploration. Artists are introduced to the landscape, local art spaces, and one another through guided workshops and field trips. This creates a shared vocabulary and sense of place that informs their practice.

  • 4 workshop days + 3 field trips encourage experimentation and cross-pollination.

  • Evenings like the Happy Hour outing and Bonfire offer informal reflection and bonding.

Week 2 – Focus & Production
The second week intentionally slows down, giving artists autonomy and time to synthesize what they’ve absorbed. The focus shifts toward individual studio practice and deep work, punctuated by a few light-touch collective moments.

  • 7 work blocks anchor the week.

  • 1–2 workshops maintain structure without overprogramming.

  • Social gatherings (Pool Party, First Friday Tour) sustain community while celebrating outcomes, as well as Pride parade and other downtown Fayetteville Pride events.

Balance at a Glance

  • Front-loaded learning → builds shared context

  • Midpoint rest (Sunday workday) → transitions into reflection

  • Back half → prioritizes making, processing, and peer exchange

  • Final days → weave celebration, visibility, and closure

Hybrid Model

  • Two weeks: on the mountain, embodied in place-based research and community.

  • One year: online with continued access to TAAS programming, critique spaces, and global peer support.
